The AWIDA Assessment

Assessment should explain why writing is hard, not just describe the outcome.

At the heart of Attuned2Write is the Attuned2Write Integrated Writing and Developmental Assessment (AWIDA). Designed by a speech pathologist and occupational therapist working in Australian schools, AWIDA was built to deliver meaningful insight within real classroom constraints. It can be completed in under 30 minutes and focuses on the writing process, not just the finished product.

Rather than labelling a student as “behind,” AWIDA identifies precisely where the writing process breaks down and links those breakdown points to underlying developmental domains.

It helps answer the questions adults are already asking:
